S.O.S. A CALL FOR HELP

 

Hello Teaching of Talking Friends,

 

As many of you know I have been holding classes on Zoom with those who have severe to profound apraxia and aphasia.

 

We have just started the third phase where caregivers are mentored online by me in methods they CAN USE AT HOME TO GET SPEAKING IMPROVEMENT.  They then forward to me videos of their work at home and then recommendations are made according to what is heard and seen on those videos.

 

 

There is one young man who had a stroke a few years ago that left him without voice or speech.  Up to this point we are getting a return to the voice and he is starting to say words.

 

However, the family situation at this point cannot continue speech therapy mentoring due to financial limitations.  This young gentleman who is in his 30's was a productive member of society who had a stroke.  He ran a very successful business until the family was forced to close it after his stroke.

 

 

Therefore I am asking for contributions for this young man who has a good prognosis for improved speech.  Approximate yearly cost for family training within a group of 5 others is 1300. per year.  If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution to help with this gentleman's therapy I am starting a fund called THE VOICE Fund.

 

Won't you please help this family where the gentleman's mother is truly focused, and has been working very diligently following all treatment suggestions?  Your help would be greatly appreciated.
