I hope you enjoy this message about expectation.  It is the term that enables me to continue to do this work each and every day.  I expect there are people out there who are in a quandary.  They don't know what to do about a loved one or spouse who is having difficulty talking due to stroke or aphasia.  

 

Many approaches to helping those with aphasia are inadequate, because not enough time is dedicated to specific approaches to helping people talk.  There are the i pads, the flash cards, and the workbooks which provide focus to those who work independently on their speaking.  

 

To speak you have to talk.  And you need a model; a human being to talk with.  Not senseless drills but talking.  That's what gets speaking better when you learn a method that was developed by a practicing speech language pathologist who has dedicated over 46 years to helping people with aphasia talk or talk better.
