Basic Truth about Aphasia Recovery:

There are few who realize that speech and language therapy for those with aphasia is not something you go to the therapist and have “done to you.” It should also include simultaneous instruction for the care partner or spouse if one exists since it will take daily talking and commitment to it at home for improved talking to eventually occur.

Will I Recover and Speak and Communicate Like I Used To?

The process of speech therapy and recovery typically requires a lifetime commitment to better talking and the methods to it should be understood and implemented by someone at home or within the family. Without it, results are often disappointing.
