Hi
Where is the Instruction Manual to Help My Family Member or Client Talk Better?
One of the problems that the field of speech-language pathology had for decades was there were not enough books on the actual Teaching of Talking. Dr. Charles Van Riper was quoted as saying that numerous times. There are books about everything, but few about the actual teaching of talking.
That is What Motivated the Writing and Publishing of The Teaching of Talking Method
That was the motivation behind the book, audio and video programs for caregivers written and directed by Mark A. Ittleman, M.S., CCC/SLP- Senior Speech Language, Pathologist. In this video therapists and caregivers will understand why there are so few because few truly experienced and expert speech-language pathologists are actually writing them, and most importantly rarely for the general public; the people who have loved ones who suffer from aphasia and have no idea what to do at home to
help them talk.
What are some of the Tools and Services Available for Those with Aphasia who have Difficulty Talking?
Caregivers can benefit from the Teaching of Talking Book, audio, or video, however, they are best used in conjunction with a speech-language pathologist who can identify a speaking difficulty and then show you what to do, while you have a book, audio, or video program as back up to make reference to.
