Hi
As a person who has expressed interest in the Teaching of Talking and the Teaching of Talking 2.0, I'm sending you a note to let you know that we are now rolling it out for those with aphasia or those with care partners or therapists.
WE HAVE LISTENED TO YOUR SUGGESTIONS TO HOW TO MAKE TEACHING OF TALKING BETTER
We are doing things differently. We are listening to our clients who are significantly troubled by aphasia and often not getting the therapy that they need, or they are seen in therapy that seems elementary with tasks that do not even address talking. Our first priority is talking, since it is most natural and what we were born with; the ability to speak. Many care partners feel so out of touch with the medical and rehabilitation community, while their
loved one is getting care. Care partners complain they are not involved nor asked or required to be. It makes care partners feel underappreciated and unempowered. They often do not get the time or the interest of professionals who are working with their loved one. Often all a care partner wants to do is to have some questions answered and learn what they can do for their loved one. When care partners do not know what to do at home, they try anything to help their loved one on their
own. They often seek other therapies that ofen do not work.
WE LISTEN AND WILL TEACH YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT APHASIA AND TALKING
Unfortunately, many care partners don't receive the tools, and therefore don't know what to do to help with talking and often get the person with aphasia or with the speaking difficulty more frustrated, angry, upset and depressed.
How is The Teaching of Talking 2.0 Even More Revolutionary than Before?
With the release of Teaching of Talking 2.0, we understand that there are two very vital aspects to speaking improvement:
SPECIFIC TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE TALKING AT HOME
1. There must be a method to help a person with aphasia talk, and that method must be custom fitted to the person, due to the many problems in talking that there are. There is no standard way to help a person with aphasia talk. Therefore with Teaching of Talking2.0 you and the person with aphasia will be personally mentored by me.
MINDSET TRAINING
2. Secondly, the Mind Set of the person with aphasia and the care partner must support and do what is necessary for better talking,
The Teaching of Talking 2.0 addresses the Mind-Set of the care partner and person with aphasia. You could have the best method and therapist, and still fail if the mindset does not support getting better. Getting better is often affected by the thoughts, beliefs, and everyday practices of the person with aphasia and the care partner. So you can learn both the Mental and the Speech Methods of better talking after a stroke, and I invite you to
contact me personally at talkwithmark1@gmail.com if you would like to explore the possibility of learning the Teaching of Talking Method and Mind Set Training. I would be happy to have a conversation with you if we think it's a good fit.
