You can learn to help a loved one talk better or again.
With time
and mentoring, care partners and family members, if committed to the process of apraxia therapy and language stimulation, can become quite capable of using speech therapy techniques. We offer a way to help a loved one talk. Mentoring teaches you how to help a person with apraxia or aphasia make sentences and improve articulation or clarity of speech sounds. It also teaches the caregiver and loved one how to help the person with apraxia or aphasia ask questions. The ability to answer
and ask questions is vital in order to have a conversation.
As those with aphasia learn how to answer and ask questions, the therapy process becomes more fun since we ask one another questions about the day, interests, scheduled activities, likes, and dislikes.
Those who appreciated joke-telling in the past can learn how to develop their sense of humor again. It's pleasurable for all concerned, and improving speaking and memory in therapy facilitates more commitment and practice. That leads to better and faster talking.
We offer independent study opportunities for you to learn the Teaching of Talking for
aphasia or apraxia. https://teachingoftalking.com/weekly-videos-and-blogs/
