Based on 5 decades of committed speech therapy with those with aphasia, I submit this post in order to help other caregivers and therapists truly get a grasp for the length of time and intensity aphasia and apraxia therapy require.

 

As a new clinician, I thought all I had to do was show up with my therapy notebooks, flashcards, and handout sheets and they would be cured!  Unfortunately, I learned with time that was not the answer.
