There are many with aphasia or apraxia who have been given the mistaken diagnosis, by well-meaning, but inexperienced people who said they would never talk again. These may include therapists, physicians, health care professionals and uninformed friends or family members.
Often people with these conditions can talk and do recover talking.
Sadly, many spouses or family members believe the "authority figure," and then they stop, and think that nothing more can be done. That leads to a life of avoidance and withdrawal from many social situations.
We are familiar with those who find excellent and expert therapists. They search and find methods to improve talking and their loved ones return to better speech and communication. They refused to give up!
Have faith the answers are out there and keep looking and pursuing the idea of better talking.
We are accepting a few individuals who are committed to better talking and they will be seen by Moshe Mark Ittleman, speech language pathologist, and author-seminar leader who has been helping those with aphasia and apraxia talk better for over 50 years.
